Oh, what a great day. A girl only gets so many showers in her life. It’s like a birthday party squared. Today was my first shower, thrown by three of my favorite people in the world….my sisters Jackie, Danyelle, and Amy.
We started the day early at the Flying Biscuit, which was yummy. Then we went to the Perimeter area, where some of us went to the mall and others branched out the Container Store. Amy and I got sidetracked in the lingerie section and then lost Danyelle, so we ran around the mall looking for her for an hour or so. We found her and then played with jewelry and Amy found some super cute girly shoes.
On to La Madeleine to get ready for the shower. Jackie especially worked really hard on the preparations, but things were a little bumpy. The air conditioner was somewhat…okay, entirely……broken. So the shower took on an unexpected tropical theme
Then they sorta forgot about the food Jackie had spent God knows how long picking out. And also about the room we reserved. It all turned out so well anyway, though. My aunt Elaine sent a corsage and beautiful flower arrangement, and Joey’s mom and Aunt Joyce brought balloons and more flowers. Aunt Joyce also brought the ring pillows she made (perfect!) and baskets for the bubbles and scrolls. She does beautiful work, and I was so pleased and touched that she wanted to help.
I learned to embrace being shiny and hot, and had a great time. Joey and I are lucky to have such fabulous family and friends. Joey showed up early to bring some fans because of the aformentioned broken air conditioner, and then came back a little later just to be cute. He’s really good at that. Also hauling gifts to cars.
I am so thankful to everyone that came, and then brought presents, too! Just coming would have been plenty. Thanks Jackie, Danyelle, Amy, Mom, Mom, Aunt Joyce, Aunt Elaine, Nanny, June, Priscilla, Melanie, Becky, Kristina, Jehan, Tyson, Greg, and Benjamin for making it a great day. It was so good to see you all, and meant a lot for you to take time to come and show me and Joey how much you care. And thanks for the presents
