passer outer

here is danny the naked reader. this is not the book he would pass out to people for their edification. his passer outer would probably be brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?
do you have a book that you buy every time you see it so you can make sure everyone in the world gets to read it? i don’t, because i wouldn’t be able to remember what it was, so i wouldn’t know to buy it when i saw it. i’m always interested when people feel so strongly about a book, though. joey, for a minute, wanted to pass out peter post’s essential manners for men to every guy he knew, but then he wasn’t sure if that was good etiquette, to pass out an etiquette book. i don’t think that was covered in the book.
my friend kevin’s is/was something happened by joseph heller, a book that reminded us both (i think?) of the police song on any other day, in which everything possible goes wrong, and then a few more things go wrong, too.
sam, my mentor teacher when i was all into that kinda thing, kept copies of straight man which, come to think of it, had a similar theme. a professor’s wife leaves town for a few days and everything comes crumbling down around him. i can’t remember if i read this or empire falls first, but somewhere in there i definitely developed a thing for russo.
recently, i got another passer-outer from leigh anne. it came out of the blue and in the mail, both of which are great ways for things to come. francine rivers’ redeeming love evidently is several people’s favorite book ever. i’m not gonna get all crazy like that, but it was a good read, and it turned its own pages. i just sat there.
anyway, just food for thought. if you have a book you pass out to everyone, i think posting a comment including its title is pretty much the same thing, except you don’t have to pay for it and it’s easier. so feel free. OR if you happen to know if i’ve ever had my own passer-outer, please remind me what it was, so i’ll know to buy it when i see it.

I highly recommend Dr. Suess Fox in Socks. It makes my tongue tired. http://www.amazon.com/Fox-Socks-Beginner-Books-Seuss/dp/0394800389

You gave me “East of Eden” for my 18th birthday…does that count as a passer outer?
My all-time fave to give is my beloved “The Westing Game.” http://www.amazon.com/Westing-Game-Puffin-Modern-Classics/dp/014240120X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206731905&sr=8-1
And then Redeeming Love, of course.

There’s too many – it’s very distressing to try to pick. I would have to be a travelling library. But since the generous sharer of daily life, Mrs. Rutledge likes lists, here goes: A Voice in the Wind. Anna Karenina. A Tale of Two Cities. Crime and Punishment. The Lord of the Rings. House of Mirth. Pride and Prejudice. (mr. darcy – sigh.) Les Miserables. Billy Budd. Wuthering Heights. Gone with the Wind. Thorn in My Heart. The Brothers Karamazov. War and Peace. Um, maybe I’m a romantic, think? In my defense, I only cry over one of them every every time. Maybe you can guess which one.

Forgot “I Love You, Stinky Face.” Now that one’s deep.

and Lambert the Sheepish Lion. This could go on for a while.

OH, OH, OH, OH, OH…Danyelle listed a Francine Rivers book…”A Voice in the Wind,” which is part of the Mark of the Lion trilogy. MUST READS. Cannot stress this enough…hence, the all caps, which is my way of saying, “Stop, look, HEED.” Seriously…I’m gonna keep reminding the world of this until all have read these majesties of fiction.
And the easy cheese has been updated…woo-woo. I like it lots!

You’re funny Leigh Anne. I can hear you squealing through your caps.
Have you read Liz Curtis Higgs? She’s almost as good as Francine Rivers.

Pride and Prejudice (mmMMmm mr. darcy). Or if you’d rather watch it, get the A&E mini-series with Colin Firth. Even tastier.

I still very much like something happened, however “The Road” is prolly the closest I come to a passer outer recently. I honestly can’t believe my passer outer is an Oprah’s Book club pick.
