day!

yesterday joey worked from home…..he had to work in the middle of the night the night before, and he slept in while we had breakfast, got dressed, played outside, dropped off soup for a sick friend, went to storytime, went to starbucks, came home and (half of us) laid down for a nap. joey woke up shortly thereafter, and we thought it would be cute to surprise danny, since he didn’t know that joey was home. so after danny woke up and had become human through the miracle called lunch, joey hid behind the office door while i lured him in. danny was incredulous and SO EXCITED that his daddy was home. much better than christmas or elmo’s world or the giant bin of balls at supertarget. he just stared at first, as if he just couldn’t believe it, and then he said ‘DAY! DAY!’ and hugged him and jumped on his lap. i just watched, so proud that the tiny man that lives in our house: a) knows who should and should not be here at various times and b) loves his daddy so much.

yes, i was proud. but also, of course, jealous, since i have never gotten such a reaction. in fact, i still don’t even have a name. but then, just now, as i was laying in the bed, trying to catch a nap (obviously not going to happen, by the way), i had the thought that made it all better in my head. i have never celebrated the fact that i have a liver or a nose. i have never thought: ‘LIVER, LIVER, i love you so much. YAY, LIVER!’ or ‘nose, i can’t believe you’re here, why are you here, who cares, YAY YAY YAY?’ and if i could only say four words, i surely would not want one of them to be liver. no, i’d rather, i think, these four: eat, sleep, bye, and tv. so really, the moral of the story is: i think i’ll go watch tv.

“Big Daddy” – a legend in his time. I always wondered if it had anything to do with how they form their mouth to say either “MaMaMaMa” or “DaDaDaDa”.????

You know what I’m trying to say. Which is easier??Not who do we love more????? Granted, that would be a reason to form a complex though.

Sweet. But here’s what it really boils down to…who do these kids want when they’re sick? Mine show mad love to their fah-jah, and both are pretty much Daddy’s Girls…but when they’re sick (or very tired), only Mama will do. And that speaks volumes. Myself…I still want my Mama when I’m sick. But that’s a whole other story.

I bet you’ll have a name when you get back from the Bahamas!
