tall vanilla latte, extra cute

this is desmond gabriel hogan, our very newest nephew. as you’ll note, he is precious. he was born today at a very considerate 1:57 p.m. while two of his favorite aunties were on a starbucks run. amy said she ain’t too mad at me. but listen, i didn’t even get a drink anyway. and i thought all babies were like danny, and chanted ‘hell, no, i won’t go’ for weeks after their assigned arrival time, rather than on a lazy afternoon the day before it. maybe a starbucks run (which decreases the generally sizable colson coefficient in the waiting room) is the best way to make a baby feel it’s safe to peek out into the world. i think that maybe ivy joined us during a coffee run, too? somebody correct me if i’m wrong.
but, as i enjoy to say of late, i digress. congratulations, jackie and greg. y’all did a great job. and we love you already, you sweet boy. welcome to the world, desmond. and when is lost coming back on, anyway? wonder what made me think of that.

So…first I said, “That is a good lookin’ baby.” Then I saw his name and, I promise…a teeny little yelp came out of my person. Desmond! I mean, that’s pretty much the coolest ever. He’s gonna live a long, strong life with a name such as that. Now, if he can foretell the future, much like my beloved Desmond David Hume on my beloved “Lost,” then y’all are set! Kelly, please tell Jackie congrats from me. I can’t believe she has a baby. Sigh…

Too cute!!! He looks like you Colsons, that’s for sure! He looks like Greg a little, too, but it is hard to tell. I have seen many Colson babies, but this is the first Hogan baby I have seen. At any rate, we love him lots, just like the rest of all of you guys! Darby says, “bay ba!” and points to Desmond. Quinn says “Aw. How cute.”

Ack-shwee, as Aidan might tell you, Miss Ivy Mae was whisked from the OR about 17 seconds after me and Mom returned from Wal-Mart. I can’t remember exactly what was needed there, but who cares, it worked. Ivy felt safe and made her appearance.

leigh anne: i like the name, too.
vanessa, darby, and quinn: thanks, we think he’s pretty cute too
and danyelle, i knew you were just the ‘somebody ‘to set me straight on that. i kinda thought that ivy was of the pre-starbucks era, but couldn’t say for sure where we went to clear her a path. now i remember buying her some ivy at wal-mart.
