yesterday the weather was so nice, danny and i thought we’d take a fun road trip. okay, so, kidding about the nice weather. i don’t remember the last time i drove six hours, and i don’t remember the last time it rained. wait, yes i do! it was yesterday! it was all worth it, though. my aunt elaine met us here and we took off for scenic deatsville, alabama, where my cousin jesse lives. jesse had surgery on saturday to have a scary and very painful tumor removed. but now he’s all better and has a very nice scar. we wanted to go see for ourselves, though. plus we wanted to take him chocolate cake. everybody needs chocolate cake when they have any health or other issues, i feel. with the possible exception of diabetes and/or high cholesterol. i suggest you invent a reason to make someone this chocolate cake right away. and then invite yourself to have some when you take it to them (probably my uncle jack, jesse’s grandaddy, can esplain about how to do that gracefully).

danny had so much fun with cousin jesse, and we’re so glad that he’s going to be just fine! and they both promised to try and stay out of the children’s hospitals as much as possible, from now on.
