swings are very bad.  danny wanted me to tell everyone for him.
sunday, aka father’s day, aka very bad day:  we were at nana’s.  we were on a porch swing.  the porch swing fell.  a board hit our sweet sweet baby in the face.  danny had a deep cut on his forehead.  we had an ambulance ride.  we went to the emergency room at egleston, children’s healthcare of atlanta.  danny had a ct scan.  danny had a fracture…a depressed skull fracture.  and a nose fracture.

danny went to the icu.  danny went to surgery.  he did well.  some neurosurgeons fixed his head, and a plastic surgeon fixed his nose.  danny spent a few more days in the hospital recovering.  danny came home, just tonight.  danny has an upset tummy tonight (this morning?), so daddy’s rocking him right now.  we think he just got a little greedy with his milk when he got home last night.  he looks a little beat up, but he is mostly back to his regular laid-back, super sweet baby self.  it’s hard to think of this as lucky, but if he had been hit with a little more force, or a little to the right, left, up, or down, things could be very different right now.  he is well on his way to a full recovery, and for that we thank GOD.
for those we could notify or who heard it through the grapevine, thanks for everything:  for the support, the prayers, the visits, the gifts, the food.  for those who would have liked to know this but didn’t, we’re sorry, and would love to have your support and prayers still.  this is the first time i’ve seen an interweb since sunday, and i haven’t had too much time for phone calls.  danny’s real into his mom right now.
